Low Medium High
Code Meaning Severity Common Symptom
88 Display test or power surge Low The entire seven-segment display illuminates with "88" in all digit positions for 1–5 seconds during the control board startup self-test. View CC Refrigerator too warm High Milk, produce, and leftovers deteriorate quickly because the fresh-food compartment temperature has climbed above 40 °F. View CI Ice maker fault Medium The ice bin is empty or depleting and no new cubes are dropping, even though the ice maker arm is in the down (active) position. View DE Defrost system warning Medium A thick layer of white or grey frost accumulates on the rear interior panel of the freezer, indicating defrost heaters are not melting accumulated ice on schedule. View DF Defrost circuit failure High Removing the freezer rear panel reveals a thick ice block covering the entire evaporator coil — the heater has not activated in two or more days. View FF Freezer fan failure High Food in the freezer begins to soften or thaw; the compartment feels warmer than the set 0 °F target. View HRS Control board communication lost High Both the freezer and fresh-food compartments warm to room temperature as the compressor and fans shut down due to the loss of control board communication. View PF Power failure detected Low Temperature settings, filter reset timers, and custom display preferences may revert to factory defaults after the power interruption. View SB Sabbath mode active Low Opening either the freezer or fresh-food door produces no light — a deliberate feature of Sabbath mode that disables all lighting and motor responses to door events. View TC Turbo Cool mode active Low The compressor and evaporator fan run at maximum capacity during Turbo Cool, producing noticeably more noise than normal operation for 1–8 hours. View WF Water filter replacement due Low Water dispenses at a noticeably slower rate — filling a glass takes more than 15 seconds — because the clogged filter restricts flow. View
